Hi folks, am hoping everyone is keeping well.
I have a couple of questions relating to immigrating/ studying in Canada.
1. If you have a qualification from outside Canada (skilled trade, Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be specific) is there a form of skill recognition to ascertain your qualifications are equivalent to Canadian qualifications? I have uses World Education Service (WES) before and it does not cover skilled trades (correct me if am wrong)
2. For those who have taken their courses (skilled trades) in Canada. For instance, a Diploma that takes two years, what are the chances of securing an apprenticeship at the end of the course so as to meet the required skill-level or hours required for registration as journeyman/woman? OR how do international students navigate this space?
3. Is it worthwhile looking the direction of Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) as an immigration pathway or even studying, given there are smaller number of jobs (this is an assumption)?
